Stakeholder Notification. Public Notice for Accreditation.

The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.

Nevada Land Trust is pleased to announce it is applying for renewal of its accredited status.

Nevada Land Trust was awarded accredited status in 2015, followed by their first renewal in 2020. Accreditation status is valid for a five-year term, after which an organization must complete a renewal process to maintain its good standing.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. Nevada Land Trust is seeking accreditation renewal to ensure the highest standards in land management, transactions, and financial stability continue to be achieved, while also providing transparency and assurance to our members and donors.

The Commission invites public comment specifically regarding Nevada Land Trust’s adherence to the Land Trust Standards and Practices national quality standards and accreditation requirements concerning governance, finance, transactions, and stewardship. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards, see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
