Help Conserve Jobs Peak Forever
Nevada Land Trust uses new crowdfunding platform to conserve 360 acres of mature forest and sagebrush

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Nevada Land Trust is calling on all lovers of wildlife and the outdoors to join us in our final push to protect 360 acres along the Sierra Front range that are vital to the health and well-being of Mule deer and other species.

Through Nevada Land Trust’s crowdfunding campaign, supporters of all backgrounds can help safeguard this critical Sierra Front wildlife corridor, known as Jobs Peak, forever. The finish line is in sight, we’re less than $80,000 from our $1.6 milion goal. We need your help to cross it and every contribution helps!
Visit www.conservewith.us/JobsPeak for more information. Donate and share with friends to help spread the word.

The Jobs Peak project’s mature forest and sagebrush communities are home to both year-round herds of Mule deer and those that make their way between the Carson River and higher elevations. Five creeks meander across the property – including Barber, Jobs, and Sheridan. Creeks - which provide excellent habitat for the Mule deer as well as for trout, bears, mountain lions, northern goshawks, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and short eared owls as well. In fact, 75% of all wildlife species in the region depend on healthy, undeveloped stream corridors for their survival. Protecting these stream corridors along the Sierra Front range significantly improves the health and well-being of these wildlife populations, while reducing the risk of wildfire.

Since 1998, Nevada Land Trust has been collaborating with community groups, fellow conservation partners, and state and federal agencies, to preserve open space and special places of Nevada for future generations. Jobs Peak represents one of our boldest and most ambitious efforts yet and we need your support to make it a reality. While parts of the project are quite steep development is possible on the southern half if we do not succeed, bringing further intrusion up and into the currently open wildlife corridor.

Nevada Land Trust is hosting the campaign on a new crowdfunding platform, Conserve With Us. Conserve With Us was created to transform the way that communities connect with conservation organizations and protect the land, water and wildlife that matters to them. The platform will provide Nevada Land Trust with a modern way to connect with people throughout Nevada and the across the globe.
